The citizens who were elected polling station members (three regulars and six substitutes) must attend their polling stations at 6 am, in order to set up the polling stations and guarantee that the elections take place without setbacks or delays.
Citizens who fulfill this function will receive a financial compensation of S/ 165, an amount equivalent to 3% of a UIT, plus one day of paid and non-compensable rest (if the training days are completed).
This penalty is not the same for everyone, because it depends on the socioeconomic classification of the district where the citizen who fails to vote is registered in his National Identity Document (DNI).
The fine is calculated based on the amount of the ITU 2026, which is S/5,500.
- Non-poor districts: 2% of the ITU, which is equivalent to S/ 110
- Poor districts: 1% of the ITU, which is equivalent to S/ 55
- Districts in extreme poverty: 0.5% of the ITU, which is equivalent to S/ 27.50
