The common de la Massana commemorated yesterday the International Day of the Elderly with one tribute to the parish’s longest-serving godparents. During the morning, the Consul Major, Eva Sansaand the Minister of Welfare and the Elderly, Young Marcaccompanied by the head of the departmentClaudia Garciathey visited Josep Martos, Lluís Molné and Aurora Areny.
martos is currently the oldest person in Massana and will do 103 years next December. Lluís Molné fulfilled 100 years last June, while Aurora Areny will also arrive at centenary tomorrow
All three received thetribute accompanied by their families and they were presented with a plant, an artisanal chocolate tile made in the parish and the common’s silver pin.
The visit also served to share experiences about their life and about the evolution of the parish, as well as to review photographs and talk about how they stay active on a day-to-day basis. “The most important thing is that today we wanted to pay them a special tribute“, he pointed out young manwho also wanted to extend the recognition to all the seniors of Massana. The councilor highlighted the activities and resources that the common makes available to the collective to promote healthy ageing. The commemoration continued in the afternoon with a snack at the manor house.
