theexecutive of Democrats yesterday validated the proposal to promote a transversal platform for the next general elections. The formula seeks to agglutinate different parties, independent people and diverse sensitivities around a shared project that allows us to face the main challenges that have been raised Andorra
The proposal was addressed during the monthly meeting of the formation executive, which brings together the members of the executive committee and representatives of the different parishes. After dealing with several matters related to the activity of the Government, the General Council and the commonsthe leadership of the party put on the table the formula with which Democrats is studying to run in the next elections.
The president of Democrats, Ladislau Baróand the organizing secretary, Maria Martisellapresented to the executive the option that yes be integrated into a transversal platform with the capacity to incorporate other political forces and people of diverse profiles. The proposal received the approval of the members of the executive and now opens a new phase of talks to specify its scope and possible members.
The idea of creating this platform is the result, as the training explained, of the different meetings that baron, Martisella and the general secretary of Democrats, Guillem Casalhave maintained over the past year. Contacts have taken place both with the party’s parish committees and with representatives of other political forces, with the aim of exploring possible areas of understanding before the general elections.
The platform is intended to be built from a shared programmatic axis. This document will have to collect the main challenges facing the country in the short, medium and long term, as well as the issues that most concern citizens. The will is that these common points are the political basis of the project, beyond the partisan origin of the people or formations that may end up being incorporated. With the formula already validated internally, the direction of Democrats will start in the coming weeks a round of contacts with both national and parochial parties that can fit into this transversal platform. The conversations must serve for determine which formations are willing to join to the project and under what conditions.
The proposal, however, will not be limited to political parties. Democrats it also proposes opening the platform to independent people who can contribute experience and knowledge, even if they are not currently part of any training or maintain direct links with political activity. The aim is to expand the base of the project and set up a candidacy with diverse profiles.
