After the protest day last Friday September 25, which paralyzed traffic on the Central-Western highway between Carora and Barquisimeto for more than nine hours, the organizing committee of the mobilization held a dialogue table with the local Management of Corpoelec and the prefect of the Torres municipality, Ronal Sánchez, where the delivery of the list of community demands was formalized and operational commitments were signed for the entity.
During the meeting, the representation of the state electricity company agreed to immediately submit the minutes of claims to the authorities of the National Government and the Electrical General Staff. Likewise, the parties agreed to restructure the load management scheme to establish equitable and transparent daytime schedules, aimed at mitigating unforeseen outages of up to 18 hours that had been affecting commercial and residential activity in the jurisdiction.
Among the immediate agreements of the negotiation, the continuous supply of service for the Carorita, Torrellas, El Yabal, Campanero, La Romana, Alirio Díaz, La Represa, Paso Real, Egidio Montesinos and Litorarena sectors. The technical spokesperson foresees a progressive stabilization of the regional system in the coming weeks, supported by the incorporation of the TZ7 Unit in the state of Zulia – which will generate 150 MW – added to the contribution of the Central Plant to reach a total of 300 MW to the interconnected system.
The citizen commission, headed by lawyer Dirson Escobar and made up of jurists and social leaders located at the protest, confirmed that it will maintain a position of oversight over the established commitments. To evaluate the progress of the work agenda, the authorities and the neighborhood spokesperson scheduled a new institutional meeting for next Friday, October 2 at the corporation’s headquarters.
