WANICA — The 56-year-old RMS’s shotgun was stolen from his white GMC pickup, the doors of which could not be locked due to a defect. The man has reported the incident to the Lelydorp police, the Suriname Police Corps wrote on its website on Tuesday (today).
RMS stated that he came home on Sunday evening around ten o’clock after a fishing trip on the Rijsdijkweg. When unloading his belongings, he forgot to take the shotgun, which was on the back seat, inside with him. The next morning he discovered the gun was missing.
It is suspected that unknown persons used the defective lock of the pick-up to take the weapon. The theft took place on Sunday and Monday on De Craneweg. The central police department is responsible for further investigation.
