Turmush — Politician Turdakun Usubaliev For 24 years he was the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kirghiz SSR.
He contributed to the development of industry, agriculture, science and education.
Under him, the Toktogul hydroelectric power station and a number of other power plants, as well as architectural structures, were built.
The Ak-Suu regional archive contains photographs of Turdakun Usubaliev, taken in 1979 during his visit to the Sary-Jaz valley, where he got acquainted with the preparatory work for the construction of a complex of structures on the Sary-Jaz River.
At the airport in Karakol he was met by an activist of the Ak-Suu district. Accompanied by a motorcade, Turdakun Usubaliev arrived in the Sary-Jaz valley.
Geological research was carried out in the Sary-Jaz valley in 1950-1957. Deposits of non-ferrous metals – tin, tungsten, as well as natural building materials – clay, sand and gravel were discovered there.

State and party leader Turdakun Usubaliev was born on November 6, 1919 in the village of Kochkor, Naryn region.
In 1941 he graduated from the Kyrgyz Teachers’ Institute, in 1945 from the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks. In 1965 he graduated in absentia from the Lenin Moscow Pedagogical Institute.

– 1938-1941 – teacher, head teacher of a school in the village of Kochkor;
– 1941 – member of the CPSU (Communist Party of the Soviet Union);
– 1941-1945 – deputy head of the district committee department, instructor of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz SSR;
– 1945-1955 – instructor of the CPSU Central Committee;
– 1955-1956 – editor of the newspaper “Sovettik Kyrgyzstan”;
– 1956-1958 – head of the department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz SSR;
– 1958-1961 – First Secretary of the Frunzensky City Committee of the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz SSR;
– 1961-1985 – First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz SSR;
– 1961-1986 – member of the CPSU Central Committee.
He retired in 1985, and in 2008 he became one of the co-founders of the political movement “United Kyrgyzstan”.
At the beginning of September 2015, T. Usubaliev died after a long illness in Bishkek.
Usubaliev is the author of more than 10 books and more than 100 articles. He was awarded various state awards, including ten orders. Hero of the Kyrgyz Republic with the presentation of a special sign “Ak-Shumkar”.
