SAN MARINO – The Christian Democrats aim to relaunch internal debate in view of the next political challenges.
As San Marino RTV reports, the secretary Gian Carlo Venturini has announced the section consultation for 24 October, open to members and preceded by two meetings, scheduled for tomorrow evening and 7 October.
At the center of the discussion will be healthcare, social security, the Association Agreement with the EU, institutional reforms, development, environment and training. Secretaries of State, party bodies, Central Council, section directors, working groups and youth movement involved.
“The objective is to ensure that the political action of the PDCS is fueled by the involvement of its members,” explained Venturini. The party, which has around 1,500 members, also looks at the implementation of the Government program and the obligations linked to the Agreement with the European Union.
On an institutional level, the group leader Manuel Ciavatta recalled the results of the September council session, indicating among the priorities the law on the family, the University, the Arengo requests and the reform of the council regulations.
Oscar Mina illustrated some changes to the Regulations, including greater use of the Commissions in the drafting phase, the introduction of alternate members and greater transparency of the sessions. The so-called “trap” is also foreseen: after 25 hours of debate, a motion approved by an absolute majority could determine the rejection of the amendments still pending. The measure will be verified after approximately 18 months.
Aida Maria Selva finally, he recalled the entry into force, on 28 September, of the law on the family, with new provisions on leave, maternity, parenting, caregivers and reconciliation between work and family life. For Venturini, the balance of political activity will depend on the ability to translate the commitments undertaken with citizens into concrete responses.
