PARAMARIBO — OGi Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar of Ramada Paramaribo Princess Hotel has been named ‘Most Outstanding Restaurant’ of the second edition of the Restaurant Week 2026. “We are grateful for this wonderful recognition and the trust of our guests. It motivates us to continue to innovate, keep our quality high and offer our guests a special culinary experience every time,” says Natasha Ribeiro de Souza, Public Relations Manager of Ramada, the True Time.
According to her, the award is not only recognition for OGi as a restaurant, but especially for the entire team that has contributed to its success behind the scenes and on the work floor. She praises the employees for their “hard work, creativity, passion, dedication and continued commitment”.
“We believe that a dish is not just about taste, but about the complete experience. The combination of our Japanese cuisine with a suitable cocktail gave our guests that extra element”

According to the PR manager, during Restaurant Week, attention was paid not only to the quality and taste of the menu, but also to the total experience of the guests: from the preparation and presentation of the dishes to the service and promotional activities.
A striking part of OGi was the ‘cocktail pairing’. The three-course menu included the cocktail ‘Tokyo Sour’, based on a Japanese recipe. “We believe that a dish is not just about taste, but about the complete experience. The combination of our Japanese cuisine with a suitable cocktail gave our guests that extra element,” says Ribeiro De Souza.
The ‘Island Escape Edition’ was held between August 3 and 9. Seventeen restaurants participated in the second edition of Restaurant Week this year, presenting various concepts and menus. Organization Xeno Events Suriname says that OGi was ultimately named ‘Most Outstanding Participant’ based on guest reviews, sales results and promotional activities, among other things. “We were enthusiastic about our participation from the start and were confident that our concept would be well received,” says Riberio de Souza.
Still, the PR manager says that she could not have predicted in advance that “we would ultimately come out on top.” “The award came as a wonderful surprise and makes us extra proud of what we have achieved as a team.” OGi Teppanyaki & Sushi Bar is also participating in the next edition of Restaurant Week (November 30-December 6). The theme will then be ‘Festive Indulgence’.
