A mother of six accused in the stabbing death of her common-law husband will remain behind bars after a magistrate ruled that only the High Court can consider bail. Fifty-year-old Arlene Arnold is charged with manslaughter following the death of forty-five-year-old Jeremy “Clive Tambran” Hendricks. Police say Arnold allegedly stabbed Hendricks in the arm during a domestic dispute on Pickstock Street early Saturday morning. He later died while receiving treatment at the K.H.M.H. Arnold’s attorney, Ronell Gonzalez, argued that she has a history of abuse and that two of her children still depend on her. But the court denied bail and remanded her to the Belize Central Prison until November tenth. Her attorney is expected to pursue bail in the High Court.
