Light motor vehicles will be allowed to access both the eastbound and westbound lanes of the Priority Bus Route (PBR) from 8:00 pm on Monday, August 31, 2026, according to an advisory issued by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.
The Ministry says the temporary authorisation will be extended ONLY to light motor vehicles, and only up to midnight on Monday.
According to the Ministry’s release, this is “in support of traffic-management arrangements for the nation’s Independence Day activities.”
“These temporary measures are implemented to support the safe and efficient movement of persons during the Independence Day activities,” the Ministry explained.
