The National Bank of Dominica Ltd. (NBD) has recognized ten students through its Bright Future Scholarship Program while introducing a revised version of the initiative, aimed at expanding educational opportunities and supporting student success.
According to an NBD press release, the scholarship handover ceremony brought together recipients, parents, educators, and NBD team members to celebrate students who have demonstrated academic achievement, perseverance, leadership potential, and a commitment to excellence.
This year’s recipients are Akira Faustin, Anola Ducreay, Eden Nesty, Kellis Delsol, Maya Royer, Amelie Adams, Ashanti Darroux, Byron Barrie, Jaybee Fanfan and Malachi Christmas.
The students now join a growing group of young scholars supported through NBD’s investment in education and youth development. The bank said the revised program is intended to provide financial assistance and encouragement to deserving students, helping to reduce barriers to education and create opportunities for future success.
Marketing Manager Michelle Joseph highlighted the broader importance of the initiative, saying, “At NBD, we believe that education is one of the most powerful investments we can make in our nation’s future. Deputy General Manager Cedric Charles noted that the recipients represent the kind of determination and ambition needed to contribute to national development.
“These scholarships reflect NBD’s enduring commitment to supporting the communities we serve. We recognize that behind every outstanding student is a story of hard work, determination, and sacrifice,” He said. “By investing in these young achievers, we are helping to develop future leaders, professionals, and innovators who will contribute meaningfully to the social and economic development of Dominica. We are proud to play a role in their educational journey and look forward to witnessing their continued success.”
The release added that director Jodie Luke commended the students for their resilience, discipline, and pursuit of excellence, while encouraging them to approach the opportunities ahead with confidence and purpose.
Meanwhile, scholarship beneficiaries and their families expressed their gratitude for the support, indicating that it will have a positive influence on their trajectory, shared the NBD.
“I am truly grateful to NBD for this opportunity. This scholarship is an investment in my future and serves as a reminder that hard work and dedication can open doors. I am committed to making the most of this opportunity and pursuing my goals with determination,” said scholarship recipient Amelie Adams.
