The police have confirmed that a body was found in Capuchin but they say that it was so badly decomposed that DNA testing will be necessary for identification.
In a message sent late Wednesday afternoon, Police PRO Ag ASP Fixton Henderson, said the police recovered human remains in a precipice in Capuchin.
“The remains appeared to be a severely decomposed body of an apparent female wearing a blue top and its unrecognizable,” he said. “DNA testing will have to be done to confirm the identity.”
He did not say whether the body was that of the teen but said he was sending the message so the public knows “what’s been happening to avoid speculation.”
Earlier on Wednesday, several police sources confirmed to Dominica News Online that the body was that of Jerbia Paul who was reported missing since Friday, July 24, 2026.
At the time of her disappearance, she was reportedly wearing a dark blue shirt.
The police will be holding a press conference on the matter at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday morning at Police Headquarters.
