The mother of missing Portsmouth teenager Jerbiah Kaysia Paul has made an emotional appeal to the public for information as the search for her daughter enters its ninth day.
Speaking directly to the public, Jacinta Paul thanked the many people who have been assisting with search efforts and asked anyone with information about her daughter’s whereabouts to come forward.
“Today marks nine days since she’s gone missing,” Paul said. “I just want to reach out and tell the people who have been searching, contributing and praying that we are thankful. We are grateful for your prayers, your contribution, your visits and your check-ups. I am very thankful for this.”
According to a missing person bulletin issued by the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, 16-year-old Jerbiah Kaysia Paul, of Georgetown, Portsmouth, was reported missing on July 25, 2026.
Police said the teenager, who is approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and brown-skinned, left her home at about 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24, and has not been seen or heard from since. She was last seen wearing a blue blouse.
Paul said her daughter was last seen and spoken to at home before her disappearance.
The distraught mother urged anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to report it to the authorities.
“Anyone who has seen something or knows something, come forth to the nearest police station,” she pleaded.
She also invited members of the public who are willing to assist with the ongoing search to join volunteers gathering daily at her stepmother’s and father’s residence in Zicack, Portsmouth.
“You all can come to my stepmom and my dad’s residence in Zicack. You won’t miss the lilac house close to Mr. Teddy Wally’s home. There are persons who gather every day to join the search,” she said.
Expressing the anguish her family has endured since her daughter’s disappearance, Paul said, “It’s hard for me. I miss my child. I want to be reconnected with my child. It’s a mess.”
She appealed for continued prayers and support from the public, adding, “I ask everyone to continue to be there for us in a positive, supportive way. Let’s just bring Jerbiah back home. She needs to be home.”
The Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force is asking anyone with information about Jerbiah Paul’s whereabouts to contact 911, the Portsmouth Police Station at 266-4654, the Criminal Investigations Department at 266-5164, 266-5165, 266-5157, 266-5185, 266-5119 or 266-5117, or any police station.
