The Pouets building is one step closer to its reopening. The Consul Major of Andorra la Vella, Sergi Gonzálezhas announced that there is already a company interested in leasing the space. The details of the concession will be discussed at the council of the common which will be held next week, which will have to validate the approval.
The first call for the competition to find a car park concessionaire on Carrer de lAlzinaret it came out in 2025, but it was deserted. As a result of this situation, the common he asked the interested companies why they had not submitted a bid and to detect which bases of the competition could be improved. With the input received, the conditions were modified with a more open and attractive approach for companies.
Among the main changes was the removal of the obligation to allocate the space exclusively to vehicle parking. Thus, bidders could present projects that could allocate the space to other uses, social, sporting or cultural, with the aim of revitalizing the area.
The new concession model foresees that the concessionaire undertakes the drafting of the project, the execution of adaptation works and the exploitation and subsequent maintenance of the property. The concession term will be up to a maximum of 50 years.
In addition, the successful bidder must pay the common a fee of 4,000 euros per month for the transfer of the space, regardless of the activity that ultimately takes place there. With this concession, equipment will be recovered that has been unused for years and that it wants to become a new pole of economic and cultural activity in the area.
