Huma Qureshi and Mrunal Thakur in ‘Pooja Meri Jaan’

The first look from Huma Qureshi and Mrunal Thakur’s upcoming movie, Pooja Meri Jaan, was unveiled by streaming service Zee 5 on Thursday (July 23, 2026). Directed by Navjot Gulati, the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and will be released soon on Zee 5.
As per a press release, the film “delves into the unsettling consequences of obsession, accusations and prejudice, exploring how the actions of one individual can give rise to sweeping judgments and misplaced suspicion.” It is part of Zee 5’s Hindi film slate of the year.
The first look opens with a voiceover of a man as a text message is being typed on screen, giving a glimpse into the obsession of a lover. Huma seems to be playing a lawyer while something wrong is shown to be happening to Mrunal’s character, who is filled up with sadness. The film promises to be an emotionally charged thriller.
Speaking about being part of the film, Mrunal said in a statement, “What drew me to Pooja Meri Jaan was how unpredictable and layered the story is. Pooja is a character who finds herself at the centre of circumstances that completely upend her world, and portraying her emotional journey was demanding and incredibly rewarding. It’s a film that keeps you guessing, constantly blurring the line between perception and reality.”
Mrunal was seen in three films this year, including, Do Deewane Seher Mein, Dacoit: A Love Story and Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. Meanwhile, Huma was recently seen in Baby Do Die Do, which she also produced with her brother, Saqib Saleem.
