Algerian Foreign Ministry
On Thursday, Algeria expressed its strong condemnation of the attack on a Saudi ship while sailing in the Red Sea.
A statement by the Algerian Foreign Ministry considered the attack on the Saudi ship “a flagrant violation of the principles of international law related to freedom of maritime navigation in international lanes, and a direct threat to security and stability in the region.”
He continued Statement “Algeria affirms its full solidarity with the sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, following this attack, and stresses the need to immediately stop these attacks, which would affect the safety of international trade and the flow of energy supplies.”
Before renewing Algeria’s call to “reduce escalation and avoid any behavior that might increase tension in the Middle East region.”
The Saudi News Agency reported earlier today that a ship named ENCELIA, belonging to a Saudi company, was targeted while sailing in the Red Sea.
The agency, quoting an official source in the Saudi Transport Authority, confirmed the safety of all ship crew members. After a fire broke out in the front of it as a result of the attack.
For its part, the Yemeni Houthi group announced that it carried out what it called an operation using missiles and drones, targeting two Saudi oil ships.
