Motorhome and campervan tourism represents an opportunity that deserves much more attention than it has received to date. The creation of an association to defend the interests of this group of women is aimed at the segment of residents who travel this way and who particularly complain about the difficulties in finding where to park but also the needs of visitors who arrive in Andorra with these vehicles. These are, to a large extent, people looking for nature, tranquility, hiking, cycling and outdoor activities, the main attractions of Andorra during the summer months. The current regulation prohibits overnight stays outside the authorized spaces and provides for penalties for violators, although none have yet been imposed. It is a legitimate rule to preserve public space, avoid uncivil behavior and guarantee coexistence. The problem appears when this requirement is not accompanied by a sufficient supply of enabled areas. It is difficult to demand compliance with an obligation when, beyond campsites, alternatives are scarce. The rule ends up losing effectiveness and generates a feeling of inconsistency both among visitors and among the residents themselves. The answer is not to relax control, but to complement it with adequate infrastructure, sufficient parking areas and services, as well as clear information about what is allowed and what is not. Many of the conflicts that occur are born more from ignorance than from the will to break the rules. Andorra cannot afford to convey the image of a country that invites you to discover the mountains but that puts obstacles in one of the most common ways to enjoy them. If this type of visitor brings economic activity, contributes to de-seasonalizing tourism and fits with the commitment to a more sustainable model, the response must be planned, balanced and intelligent. Listening to the new group and turning their reasonable demands into an opportunity would be a beneficial decision for everyone.
