
The Meteorological Department warned in a weather bulletin on Wednesday, July 15, of a severe heat wave hitting several states.
According to the second level alert (orange), temperatures range between 39 and 46, and will extend until next Friday.
On the coastal strip, temperatures are expected to range between 39 and 41 degrees in the states of Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Algiers and Boumerdes.
In the eastern states, the states of Bejaia, Jijel, Skikda, Annaba and Al-Tarf are expected to record temperatures ranging between 40 and 44 degrees until the end of the week.
Regarding Tlemcen, Sidi Bel Abbes, Saida, Mascara, Tiaret, Tissemsilt, Medea, Blida, Djelfa, M’Sila, Tizi Ouzou, Bouira, Setif, Mila, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Constantine, Souk Ahras, Batna, Khenchela, Oum El Bouaghi and Tebessa, temperatures are expected to reach between 44 and 46 degrees.
The meteorological services also expect very hot weather to be recorded until 06:00 on the morning of Thursday, July 16, in: Biskra, Ouargla, In Saleh, Adrar, Tindouf and Bordj Badji Mokhtar.
