Myanmar domestic worker repatriated with the help of the labour attaché office

The Labour Attaché Office in Thailand said it had provided necessary assistance for the repatriation of a Myanmar domestic worker, who had requested help to return to Myanmar as she no longer wished to work.

The Myanmar migrant worker said she had worked at a house in Bangkok as domestic worker and left the house without the phone and any ID document as she no longer wanted to work for the employer, and came to the embassy for asking help, said the labour attaché office on 15 July.

She was provided temporary accommodation at the Myanmar Overseas Employment Agency Association (MOEAA) office and MOEAA lawyer and embassy officials connected the employer and took back the worker’s properties and documents.

Upon her request to be sent home, the labour attaché office provided a flight ticket.

After the officials gave her a ride to the Don Mueang airport on 14 July evening, she communicated back that she had safely arrived in Yangon, said the office.
