With roughly three months remaining in the voter confirmation exercise, the Electoral Office is encouraging eligible voters to complete the confirmation process before the October 15, 2026, deadline.
According to an audio statement by Chief Election Officer Anthea Joseph, the voter confirmation period, which began on October 15, 2025, has now entered its final quarter, leaving about 90 days for eligible electors to confirm their status.
In her statement, the Officer reminded voters that anyone who fails to complete the confirmation process before the deadline will have their name removed from the voters list, given the required verification process before approval of applications. As a result, they will not be eligible to vote in village council elections or general elections until their voting status is restored in accordance with the law.
Joseph added that to complete the confirmation process, applicants are required to present a valid government-issued identification card and be accompanied by a witness from their polling district.
For individuals who do not possess a valid government-issued ID, the Electoral Office said an alternative process is available. Namely, applicants may submit an affidavit signed by a Justice of the Peace, Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths, together with a passport-sized photograph and their birth certificate.
Saying that the office anticipates a surge in applications as the deadline approaches, Joseph noted that the confirmation process takes approximately 30 minutes and described it as an important step in safeguarding the right to vote.
She added that as of the latest update, 20,454 people have applied for voter confirmation, with 19,007 applications already approved. In addition, 1,735 people have submitted applications for new voter registration, while 1,489 of those applications have been approved.
