The double version about juicy compensation for the departure of Colpensiones executives; They reach up to $200 million per person, admits Jaime Dussán

Between July 1st and July 8th, at least five directors and managers of the Colombian Pension Administrator (Colpensiones) left their positions.

The entity assures that with these withdrawals, they would be looking for favor several directors with millionaire compensation, before the change of government.

However, there is a double version about the reasons for the departure of official workers, With only one month left until the change of Government.

Among the officials who left at the beginning of July is the director of Pension Contributions, Stephanie Bornacelli; the Investment Director, Sandra Barón and the Risk and Information Security manager, Diego Flórez.

Additionally, the Information Management Manager, Wilson Melo and the Network and Incentives Manager, Wendy Mercado.

The version that Jaime Dussán gave to EL TIEMPO about the retreats is that they were all volunteers and even gave a political overtone to the matter.

“Colpensiones is a commercial, industrial and financial company and the employees are public, not freely appointed and removed. Then there are people who ask for compensation and they simply leave. And there are like three directors and three managers.”he explained.

And he added: “They leave with a good amount of money. From 100 to 200 million pesos. There are also some who are about to retire and ask for compensation. If Iván Cepeda won, several would stay, but they know that the incoming administration is not going to be Dussán’s.”

When asked for names, Dussán said he didn’t remember them.

But another is the version given by at least two of the professionals mentioned.

    ‘Unilateral decision’

One of them assured that they brought together human talent to tell them that they were leaving their posts or send them a letter.

“They notified me of the entity’s departure without any justification. It was a unilateral decision. “Since it is without just cause, compensation is appropriate,” one of the now former managers told EL TIEMPO.

And he explained that if they had been asked to resign or had resigned by their own decision, compensation was not applicable.

When asked if the version that they sought to benefit them was true, he said: “That makes no sense. The decision to remove us was unilateral.” “It was a decision by Jaime Dussán.”

Finally, when asked if it was true that if Iván Cepeda won he would have continued, he said: “The compensation is the same in this or the next Government and, I insist, they did not tell us why the decision was made.”

Another of the dismissed officials, who also requested that his name be withheld, assured that the compensation was not about any favor: “I never requested that compensation. On the contrary, it hurts me that they removed me. What’s more, I came to Colpensiones even before this administration arrived.”.

And he added: “Although they have not paid me, The letter in which they notify us of the departure says that we will be paid what corresponds to the time worked.”

And regarding its supposed continuity if Iván Cepeda had won, he said: “The management of the entity must be apolitical. It should not have an impact on its operation.”

The retirements of the five high-level officials are known in the midst of a parallel controversy over a million-dollar contract to change the pensioner data management platform. and complaints of failures in some of the services.
