According to the Consulate-General of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar in Kunming, 46 Myanmar nationals, who had been detained in Ruili, China, for illegal residency and employment, were repatriated to Myanmar on 8 July.
These Myanmar nationals were reportedly arrested for living and working illegally at the Xinjiang Garment factory in Ruili, Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
To ensure their safe return, the Myanmar Consulate-General in Kunming maintained close coordination with the Foreign Affairs Office of the Dehong Prefecture People’s Government and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ruili People’s Government, working alongside the relevant authorities in Ruili.
Following these coordination efforts, the individuals were systematically handed over to the relevant Myanmar authorities on 8 July via the Nantaw, the border crossing point between Ruili and Muse. — TWA/ZN
