VIENTIANE: Vangvieng district in Vientiane province is set to offer yet another visitor attraction later this year with the construction of a glass bridge, the first in Laos, which provides breathtaking views of a scenic area in Huay Sangao village.
The remarkable structure is being built by a Chinese company and is expected to become a must-visit destination this October.
Stretching 228m in length and standing 128m above the valley floor, the bridge offers visitors the thrilling sensation of walking high above a spectacular limestone landscape.
Designed to hold up to 400 people at a time, it draws visitors into the heart of the rugged topography that has made the area so popular.
Project Manager Chao Hua Ming said the bridge is being constructed using advanced engineering technology by an experienced Chinese team renowned for building high-altitude glass bridges. Built to rigorous international safety standards, it has been designed to provide visitors with both excitement and peace of mind.
Beyond the bridge, visitors can enjoy a range of adventure and leisure activities throughout the area, including a cliff elevator to a panoramic viewpoint, bungee jumping, the Tham Nang Eua Cave, restaurants and a swimming pool. – Vientiane Times/ANN
