Deputy Minister for Construction U Myo Myint, accompanied by members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, inspected a collective cleanup campaign at Falam People’s Hospital (200-bed) on 11 July, which had been damaged by terrorist incidents.
He observed Tatmadaw members, police officers, departmental officials, and local residents working together to clean the hospital buildings and compound and encouraged the participants. Falam People’s Hospital was upgraded to a 200-bed facility in July 2008 and has since provided healthcare services to local residents of Chin State.
The deputy minister then inspected joint reconstruction efforts by Tatmadaw members, MPF members, and residents to repair homes damaged by terrorists in Balai and Pharthauk wards of Falam, and provided corrugated iron sheets and roofing nails.
During the inspection tour, the deputy minister instructed officials to ensure that the materials provided accurately match actual on-ground requirements, prevent the wastage of relief supplies, and ensure that no local residents genuinely in need of assistance are left behind in Falam’s rehabilitation and reconstruction processes. — MNA/TH
