BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) has announced temporary restricted airspace over several locations across the country on selected dates in conjunction with activities for Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah’s 80th birthday celebrations.
As part of additional security and safety measures, a restricted airspace with a radius of three nautical miles (5.56km) will be enforced around the following locations:
July 15 – Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, Bandar Seri Begawan
July 19 – Polo Field 1 to Pantai Restaurant, The Empire Hotel, Brunei-Muara District
July 22 – Padang Kompleks Dewan Kemasyarakatan, Pekan Tutong
July 29 – Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien, Bandar Seri Begawan
Aug 1 – Padang Bandaran, Jalan Sultan, Kuala Belait
Aug 4 – Padang Kompleks Dewan Kemasyarakatan Mukim Bangar, Temburong
During the restricted periods, unauthorised aircraft, including unmanned aircraft systems (drones), are strictly prohibited from operating within the designated airspace.
The DCA reminded the public that failure to comply with the restriction constitutes an offence under Section 50 of the Civil Aviation Act (Chapter 290) and is a violation of the laws and regulations of Brunei Darussalam. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
