The Minister of Public Works and Base Installations, Abdelkader Glaoui, stressed the necessity of providing and harnessing all the necessary capabilities for the success of the activity of the mixed Algerian-Chinese company specializing in port dredging, in a way that strengthens national capabilities in this field and raises the readiness of port facilities.
The Ministry of Public Works and Base Facilities stated, in a statement, that Glaoui chaired a coordination meeting yesterday, Sunday, at the Ministry’s headquarters, devoted to discussing the work plan of the Algerian-Chinese mixed port dredging company, within the framework of efforts to develop and modernize the port infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by central executives from the Ministry, along with the heads, general directors and general directors of the National Agency for Port Installations (ANRIP), the Maritime Works Complex (GTM), and the Laboratory for Marine Studies (LEM), in addition to representatives of the Chinese Port Engineering Company (CHEC).
The meeting was devoted to studying the work program of the mixed company specializing in port dredging, where the importance of providing various means and capabilities to ensure its success was emphasized, allowing the development of dredging and port maintenance activity and strengthening Algeria’s capabilities in this field.
This endeavor comes within the framework of the trends of developing national port facilities and improving their readiness, in line with the requirements of maritime activity and supporting the modernization of port infrastructure.
