The meeting takes place while Casanare faces one of the most serious winter emergencies in recent years.
The Government maintains the public calamity, more than 4,200 families remain affected by the floods and Red alerts remain in force due to sudden floods and overflows of several rivers.

According to the Government, one of the priority issues on the agenda will be the humanitarian situation derived from the intense rainy seasonwhich has impacted both urban and rural areas of the department.
Photographs released by the Colombian Aerospace Force and by ‘Prensa Libre Casanare’ have shown neighborhoods and roads completely surrounded by waterwhile relief agencies continue to assist the affected communities.
Governor César Ortiz has indicated that The current winter season constitutes a “historic and unprecedented” emergencywhich is why the department declared a public calamity and maintains permanent monitoring of the Casanare, Ariporo, Pauto and Cravo Sur rivers, which remain on alert due to flooding.

Infrastructure, security and development are also part of the connection
In addition to the winter emergency, during the day it is expected review the main needs of the department and advance in the articulation of projects with the next National Government.
Among the planned topics are initiatives related to road infrastructure, health, education, security, agricultural development and institutional strengtheningseveral of them with technical studies already advanced.
