In a press release, the Ministry of Agriculture of the country explained that the meeting was held at the Indian Agricultural Research Center, which is located in New Delhi, and both sides discussed expanding cooperation in the fields of agricultural research, improved seeds, livestock, effective management and beneficial use of water, transfer of new agricultural technology, capacity building, and development of agricultural products trade.
In this meeting, Mr. Omari, besides being grateful for India’s hospitality, emphasized Afghanistan’s readiness to develop practical cooperation in the fields of agriculture, irrigation and livestock and to increase the export of Afghanistan’s agricultural products.
At the same time, the Indian Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare also welcomed the Afghan delegation and emphasized the importance of the development of agriculture, strengthening of food security, transfer of experience and agricultural technologies, and the continuation and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
According to another news, Mr. Umari also met the Minister of Food Processing Industries of India, Sher Chirag Paswan, and discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of agricultural products processing.
In this meeting, both sides had a comprehensive discussion and exchange of views on the value addition for agricultural products, the development of basic food processing facilities, technology transfer, capacity building and the development of commercial cooperation between the two countries.
Also, both sides emphasized on strengthening joint cooperation to ensure food security, improve people’s living standards and further develop mutually beneficial economic cooperation between Afghanistan and India.
