Inquiries related to housing in the public park have been the most frequent during the first semester of the year a the National Housing Institute. These demands, linked to both public protection and affordable flats, they represent 17.7% of the total of 2,073 inquiries served between January and June.
INH activity has grown by nearly 70% with respect to the same period last year and practically equals the volume of inquiries registered throughout 2025. This evolution consolidates the growth of housing information and guidance servicewhich since its launch in 2020 has tripled the number of inquiries handled.
The update of the incomes of lease contracts was the second reason for consultation, with 17.3% of the totalfollowed by public aid in terms of housing, with 16.2%. The extensions of rental contracts they have concentrated 11.5% of the demands, while the procedure for recover a home for own or family use it represented 7.7%.
Athese five areas concentrate 70% of the inquiries received. This semester, inquiries related to the entry into force of the new regulations that will regulate lease contracts for the period 2027-2030 have been added.
Tenants made 39% of the inquirieswhile the owners have made 15%. The remaining 46% corresponds to real estate companies, management companies, individuals and other organizations. The INH highlights the increase in inquiries from professionals and other players in the sector, a fact that demonstrates the consolidation of the institute as a point of reference for technical housing advice.
During the first semester, 53% of the inquiries were made by women and 40% by men. The remaining 7% correspond to inquiries made through non-personalized channels. The months with the most activity have been January and February, coinciding with the consultations on the update of incomes according to the CPI, and June, marked by legislative developments.
With regard to the Program for access to the first home of ownership, approved in October of last year, the INH has managed 157 inquiries during the first six months of the year. Since the start of the program, 38 applications have been submitted.
