His funeral ceremony was held at the Eidgah Mosque in Kabul and later he was buried in the Nader Khan Tomb, which was attended by a number of government officials, cricket team players and general citizens.
Maulvi Atiqullah Azizi, Minister of Arts and Culture of the Ministry of Information and Culture, said in the said ceremony that Shapoor Zadran’s death is a great loss for Afghanistan and called him a shining star in the field of sports.
He added that we are saddened by his death, and said that the Ministry will collect necessary information about his life, games and sports achievements and it will be made into a document.
At the same time, the leaders of the Zadran tribe and his family said that Shapur Zadran is the pride of all Afghans and is not connected to a particular tribe.
The family members asked the officials of the Islamic Emirate and Cricket Board to name the new sports stadium under the name of Shapoor Zadran.
During the speech, the family and relatives of 38-year-old Shapoor Zadran thanked the officials of the Islamic Emirate for their tireless efforts.
It is worth mentioning that Shapoor Zadran played as a national cricket player for Afghanistan for about a decade and had many achievements in this field.
