During the past hours, social media platforms have been swept by a widespread wave of anger, following the cowardly attack that targeted the Mujahid Sharafi Muammar inside his home, resulting in the death of his daughter, as activists demanded that the identity of the perpetrators be quickly revealed and that they be brought to justice, with the maximum penalties imposed on them.
Regarding the latest developments in the case, unofficial sources reported the arrest of two people, one of whom was 22 years old and the other 61 years old, but the security or judicial authorities did not issue any confirmation regarding this information, while investigations continue to uncover all the circumstances, identify all those involved, and bring them to justice.
On Sunday, the Governor of Annaba, Abdelkarim Lammouri, accompanied by members of the state’s security committee, made a reassurance visit and inspection of the son of Tebessa Province, in Annaba Hospital, to closely monitor his health condition and follow up on his medical care.
On Saturday, pictures of the 96-year-old Mujahid were widely circulated as he lay on a hospital bed showing signs of the attack, sparking a wide wave of sympathy and anger, especially since this crime coincided with a national occasion of great symbolism.

The Mujahid Charfi Muammar was subjected to a criminal attack inside his family residence in the municipality of Sharia, Tebessa Province, on July 2, which resulted in the death of his 55-year-old daughter, while he was seriously injured, requiring his transfer to the hospital to receive treatment.
According to what his grandson told local media, a group of people with Morocco that day knocked on the door of the house, and as soon as his daughter opened it, they attacked her with a knife, and she received several stab wounds to the head and neck, and died on the spot.
The grandson added that after killing the daughter, the gunmen went to the mujahid’s room and assaulted him violently, especially on the head, causing him bleeding and fractures of varying severity, before they proceeded to seize gold jewelry and a sum of money, then fled to an unknown destination.

It is noteworthy that Sharafi Muammar is one of the men of the liberation revolution in the Sharia region. A father of two sons and a daughter, she was also a victim of this attack. He was born in 1930, and joined the ranks of the National Liberation Army in 1957 from the rural region of Ouled Abla, belonging to the Ould Saidane throne.
He participated in a number of battles and confrontations against the French colonial forces, including the Battle of Tzerbont, the Battle of Arquo, the Battle of Bua al-Sad, the Battle of Boussouf, and the Battle of Lakhniq, in addition to many other operations. During his struggle, he suffered several wounds, and remained loyal to his patriotic duty for many years.
