The Tlemcen Qur’an sees the light – Islamic Affairs: Al-Khobar

The governor of Tlemcen state, Youssef Bashlawi, fulfilled the promise he made to himself. Representing the implementation of the project of writing and correcting the Noble Qur’an with Warsh’s narration on the authority of Nafi’, and writing it using Naskh script, this project saw the light after nearly two years of preparation for it after great preparations had been made for its embodiment, and it is a first precedent at the level of the state of Tlemcen.

This large and important project falls within the framework of embodying the great care given to the Book of God Almighty in order to preserve the religious and cultural heritage. For this purpose, the governor of the state of Tlemcen supervised at the state headquarters a few days ago the work of launching the days for auditing and reviewing copies of the Holy Qur’an under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments by a national committee that includes many competencies in this field, including sheikhs, doctors, and experts in the science of drawing and Qur’anic control.

The meeting included providing comprehensive explanations about the various stages that took place in the process of preparing this Qur’an, including those related to the scientific and technical aspects, while highlighting the spiritual, historical and cultural dimensions, and its great importance in preserving the art of Arabic calligraphy and facilitating the recitation of the Holy Qur’an for various segments of society.

The governor of the state explained on the sidelines of this religious celebration that the completion of this Noble Qur’an took approximately a year and a half of great and continuous work, during which this project passed through several precise and organized stages that included writing, reviewing and correcting parts of the Holy Qur’an, until the final stage represented by the comprehensive review and final audit of the entire Noble Qur’an. He also stressed that this edition is characterized by aesthetic and artistic characteristics, in terms of the clarity of the font and its appropriate size, ensuring ease of reading and facilitating the interest of all age groups in reciting the Book of God Almighty.

The governor praised the role of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments for his supervision and follow-up of this important project, praising at the same time the efforts of the members of the National Committee and the State Committee who ensured the completion of the review and correction processes.

The meeting was attended by an important ministerial committee led by the representative of the Minister, the Central Director of Quranic Education and Quranic Competitions, and the Chairman of the National Committee for Auditing and Reviewing Copies of the Holy Qur’an. The committee played a pivotal role in serving the Book of God Almighty, as it supervised the preparation and review of a significant number of manuscripts, recited and electronic Qur’ans, and Qur’anic applications, in implementation of the directives of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments. He also said: This project moved from an idea to a tangible reality thanks to the efforts of a specialized scientific team of compilers of the ten Qur’anic recitations and scholars skilled in drawing and controlling the Qur’an, in addition to the support provided by the state authorities and philanthropists, as well as the contribution of the calligrapher, digital processor, and embosser who gave this Qur’anic work elegance and beauty that reflects the authenticity and longevity of the Algerian Islamic heritage, and that the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments has made serving and disseminating the Book of God Almighty one of its basic priorities, whether in space. Real or digital, by encouraging initiatives aimed at serving the Holy Qur’an, and continuing to print the Holy Qur’an annually.

This great achievement was greatly appreciated by all those interested in teaching, memorizing and studying the Holy Qur’an, and they considered it an important step that comes in the context of great care for the Book of God Almighty.
