After the attack on the military base in Karachi, the Pakistani army announced that it will carry out retaliatory attacks against the perpetrators.
Following the attack on the camp of the Rangers in Karachi, which killed three soldiers and injured four others, the Pakistani army announced that it will carry out a retaliatory operation against the perpetrators of this attack. An issue that, considering the history of Pakistani army’s cross-border attacks, has increased speculations about the possibility of new attacks on Afghan soil.
In a statement, the Public Relations of the Pakistan Army announced that in this operation, three attackers were killed and another attacker, who is claimed by the Pakistan Army to be an Afghan national, was arrested after being wounded.
The statement continued to attribute responsibility for the attack to “Jamaat-ul-Ahrar” and emphasized that this group is the proxy of India. The Pakistani army also emphasized that it will carry out retaliatory operations against the perpetrators of the attack to avenge the blood of these forces.
Although the Pakistan Army’s statement did not mention the location of this operation, experts believe that according to the practice of Islamabad in recent months, it is possible that the Pakistan Army will plan a new round of cross-border attacks inside Afghanistan.
In the past months, the Pakistani army has repeatedly targeted various areas of Afghanistan, especially the border provinces of Khost and Paktika, with aerial and drone attacks.
Earlier, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) reported that as of April 1, at least 372 civilians have been killed as a result of Pakistan’s military operations in Afghanistan; However, due to the limited access of independent observers to the border areas, the actual number of victims is likely to be higher.
