Get to know the chronology of the legal dispute that involves businesses, companies, assets and one of the most influential names in Latin music.

December 2024: Daddy Yankee announces his divorce

He December 2, 2024Daddy Yankee surprised millions of followers by confirming that his marriage to Mireddys González there was come to an end after more than 20 years of marriage.

Through a statement published on social networks, the “Gasolina” interpreter explained that there was tried to save the relationship for several months, but finally received a divorce petition filed by Mireddys.

Days later the first controversy arises

The separation stopped being a strictly personal matter when differences related to the companies who managed the artist’s musical legacy and businesses.

The companies “El Cartel Records” and “The Cangris”, fundamental pieces in the business structure of Daddy Yankee, became the center of conflict.

December 14, 2024: The demand for 100 million dollars

The case escalated dramatically when Daddy Yankee presented a demand against Mireddys González and his sister Ayeicha González.

According to court documents released at that time, the artist alleged that both had made transfers for approximately 100 million dollars from corporate accounts toward personal accounts without your authorization.

The figure caused an enormous media impact and placed the case in international headlines.

As the weeks passed, the dispute stopped focusing solely on bank transfers.

Daddy Yankee’s legal team also questioned administrative decisions related to the management of their companies and raised concerns about operations linked to the musical catalog of the artist.

According to the singer’s lawyers, some business decisions would have been made without complete information about his economic scope.

2025: resources, hearings and new legal confrontations

During much of 2025both sides engaged in an intense battle in the Puerto Rican courts.

The hearings, legal appeals and documents presented by both parties kept the case in the public eye.

Meanwhile, Mireddys González maintained a relatively low profilelimiting his public statements about the case.

The relevance of the conflict also lies in the role played Mireddys within the artist’s career.

For decades she was considered one of Daddy Yankee’s most trusted people and actively participated in the administration of business aspects linked to his career.

    2026: the Supreme Court arrives

After several decisions issued by the Court of First Instance and later by the Court of Appeals, the case reached the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico.

On Tuesday, the highest judicial forum decided not favor the approaches presented by Daddy Yankee, maintaining the determinations previously adopted by the lower courts.

The decision was established in the lawsuit by the liquidation of marital assets under divorce to his ex-wife.

The decision represents a setback for the artist within this legal process.

Although the recent ruling marks a significant moment in the dispute, the conflict between Daddy Yankee and Mireddys González continues with other pending legal disputes related to the same issue.
