Envious and spiteful people find no relief in any situation. He has no friends. Desperation always works in his mind. The heart is like a burning fire.
From which sparks of conspiracy, deception and lies always emerge. He always thinks himself victorious. But he is the most defeated. He thinks himself brave, but he is the most cowardly.
What is Jealousy? Envy means wanting the destruction of the blessings that Allah Almighty has bestowed on others and feeling the pain of not getting it. Hatred comes after violence. He then always wishes evil to that person. For example, Allah says about the behavior of the hypocrites against the believers, ‘If any good touches you, they are displeased with it. And if any misfortune befalls you, they rejoice over it.’ (Surah: Ale Imran, verse: 120)
In the mind of some people, violence is instinctual and very natural. Everywhere they feel entitled, and find themselves oppressed. But they have no regard for the blessings given by Allah. No thanks for the blessing.
To avoid the harm of such a person, one should seek refuge with Allah every day by reciting Surah Falaq and Nas. In the Holy Qur’an comes: ‘And (I seek refuge) from the evil of the envious, when he is envious.’ (Surah: Falaq, verse: 5)
Burning in the fire of jealousy: Jealousy kills itself before it kills others. Almighty Allah says, “…Say, ‘You die with your anger!’ Indeed, Allah is fully aware of the secrets of the heart.”
Almighty Allah has made people high and low in intelligence, strength, wealth and status to test each other. Therefore, the duty of a Muslim is to seek the welfare of others. Don’t harbor hatred towards anyone in your heart. If it ever comes, let it burst like a bubble. Let it fall like the water of the leaves.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘Do not be separated from each other, do not follow each other, do not harbor hatred towards each other; Instead, become servants of Allah, become brothers to each other.’ (Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1935)
Just as a vulture’s lust for self-contemplation does not bring about the death of a cow, so the envy of an envious man cannot take away one’s blessings. The fire of jealousy grows when one continues to ignore it. He burns in the fire and becomes ashes, Hingsuk himself. His tenure was also burnt to ashes. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, ‘You stay away from violence. Because envy consumes good deeds, as fire consumes wood (or grass).’ (Abu Dawud, Hadith: 4905)
Hurts and greed make people jealous: When interest is hurt and sometimes too greedy, people become jealous. For example: (a) At the beginning of creation Satan was enraged seeing the high honor of Adam (A.S.). When he was asked to prostrate in respect to Adam (pbuh), he refused. Slanderously says – ‘I am made of fire and Adam is made of clay. Therefore, fire can never prostrate the earth.’ In this way he refused to obey Allah’s command by showing violence and arrogance. As a result, he was banished from Paradise forever.
(b) Similarly the son of Adam (a.s.) Kabil killed his brother Habil out of jealousy—not getting the desired woman.
(c) The Jews thought that the last prophet would come from their lineage. But they were upset because it wasn’t. They were jealous of the Prophet. Allah Almighty says, ‘Many people of the Book seek to turn you back to disbelief after you believe, even after the truth has been revealed to them – only out of malice.’ (Surah: Baqarah, verse: 109)
(d) Abu Jahl did not accept the truth of the last Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) for fear of losing leadership. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was born in the Banu Hashem tribe instead of the Banu Makhjum (Abu Jahl’s tribe) so he burned to death in the fire of jealousy.
(e) Prophet Yusuf (A.S.) was a victim of the violence of his brothers. After listening to Yusuf’s (A.S.) dreams as a child, his father became deeply attracted to him and kept an eye on him for fear of the unknown. As a result Bimata brothers became jealous of him and decided to kill the baby Yusuf. In this regard, Surah Yusuf was revealed in the Holy Qur’an.
Ways to escape from jealousy: First, seeking refuge in Allah, reciting the supplications described in the Qur’an and Hadith more and more. In addition to Surah Falak and Nasr, this prayer described in the Qur’an can also be read: ‘O our Lord! Forgive us and our brothers. Those who believed before us. And do not spread any kind of hatred against the believers in our hearts. O our Lord! Surely you are loving and kind.’ (Surah: Hashar, verse: 10)
Second, to prevent if there is power. For example, the Prophet (PBUH) took action against the Jewish tribes of Madinah and eventually expelled them from Madinah.
Thirdly, to reveal the truth and avoid the envious person or group and entrust their punishment to Allah. For example, Allah Almighty says about the jealous Jews, ‘Forgive them and ignore them, until Allah gives His (final) order. Surely Allah is powerful in all matters.’ (Surah: Baqarah, verse: 109)
God bless everyone. Amen.
