Recently, writer Inga Grenzberg celebrated the opening of her third book, and then went on a very special trip. Half a year has passed since her and director J. J. Jillinger’s marriage, and this is the first time that Inga also talks about her feelings, reported in the material of Evija Kalnbērza, Marta Kalniņa “I bought a one-way ticket” in the publication “Privatā Dzīve”.
A special person in Inga’s life is Elīna Lejiņa. They are connected by more than 20 years of friendship, and Elina’s presence helped the writer to survive the most difficult phase of her life. Also Inga was there for her friend when she needed it the most.
Grenzberg’s first book Sixth wife was created by her now ex-husband J. J. Inspired by Gillinger. He was also present at the creation and opening of the second novel, but the new work Selina, how are you? written at a time when their relationship was painfully broken. It happened at the end of last year, and at this stage, in the darkest and most difficult moments, Elina was by Inga’s side. Since the breakup of Inga and Jillinger, the girlfriends have been in touch every day. “If I don’t give a message in the morning, then she is the one who keeps a hand on our friendship,” said Inga.
That is why the story of both of them – Inga and Elina – is intertwined in the new book. It concludes with a letter that reads:
“I could not have imagined that the promise given in marriage would be fully lived out in such a short time, not short enough.
However, it was our destiny, it was our life, our experience, our love and our gratitude.” When asked if the writer could dedicate these words to her ex-husband Jillinger today, Inga answered: “Maybe only when I have completed my way to Santiago. Because now it is that one part of my life has come to an end. This is such a transition, and I’m allowed to live through it.”
