At the June 12 joint session of the NA Standing Committees on Territorial Administration, Local Self-Government, Agriculture and Environmental Protection and Financial Credit and Budgetary Affairs, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan presented the projects and financial indicators implemented in the sector in the reporting year.
The budget allocated under the “Subsidy of interest rates on agricultural loans” measure was 2.9 billion drams, the specified budget and actual performance was 1.5 billion drams.
3.7 billion drams were allocated from the state budget within the framework of the “Interest rates on loans provided for the purpose of procurement of agricultural raw materials” program. “So that we actually did not have 1 kg of unstocked fruits and vegetables, we solved this problem with 3.3 billion drams. I consider this also a saving, the state budget has saved 400 million drams, and in fact, we have procured all the fruits and vegetables,” said the minister.
The budget determined by the cognac alcohol support program was 1.1 billion drams, about 990 million drams were spent. Brandy alcohol was exported, the export volumes were quite large.
1.8 billion drams were provided as a partial compensation of the costs incurred for the main works of spring, autumn and fodder crop cultivation. As a result, cultivation was carried out on more than 24,000 hectares of cultivated land. Compensation was also provided to the citizens affected by hail in 2024 and 2025. In particular, 1,000 citizens of Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Shirak, Tavush and Syunik marzes received support for more than 14,000 hectares of damaged fields and gardens. The support amounted to 1.7 billion drams.
The budget of the event “vaccination of agricultural animals” was 2.5 billion drams, the performance? 2.4 billion drams. 740,500 diagnostics and approximately 5,900,000 preventive vaccinations were carried out.
742 million drams were spent on the “Numbering and accounting of cattle in RA” event. More than 1 million 30 thousand animals were counted.
The budget approved by the measure “Subsidy from credit interest rates for the overhaul of intensive orchards and orchards cultivated with modern grape technologies in RA” was 2.5 billion drams, the adjusted budget was 2.2 billion.
The approved budget of the RA Agricultural Equipment Leasing Support Program was 1.1 billion AMD, the actual performance was about 1 billion AMD.
About 70 million drams were spent for the event “Construction or reconstruction of small and medium livestock buildings and their technological support”.
The minister also detailed the allocations and steps taken within the framework of other programs and events.
During the question-and-answer session, Gevorg Papoyan referred to the steps taken by the ministry in terms of resisting possible sanctions by Russia in the field, the export-oriented measures, and the compliance of the quality of Armenian products with European standards. Presenting the works in this direction, the minister assured. “The state is on the side of the producer.”
