The deputy head of Schaan, Markus Beck, wants to become head in the elections next year. The FBP writes this in a statement. He justifies his candidacy with his close ties to Schaan and the goal of actively and reliably shaping the future of the community: “Schaan is my home, I am at home here with my family. It is a community with an enormous quality of life, strong cohesion and great innovative strength. I am running for mayor because I want to use my experience to lead Schaan into the future with vision and drive together with the population, the local council and the administration,” he is quoted as saying in the statement.
Before his time as deputy mayor, he served on the local council from 2011 to 2019. Among other things, he was responsible for the fair and the sports commission. The official nomination of Markus Beck as candidate for mayor will take place on June 14th in Stein Egerta, and that of the local council team on November 26th, 2026.
The VU has also already found its preferred candidate: Christoph Lingg is entering the race for the Union. The incumbent head, Daniel Hilti, will no longer stand after more than 24 years in office. The new head will be elected on March 14, 2027. (ed.)
