“He has nothing more to offer Apple except his resignation.”

    The Analyst by The Analyst

    in Russia

The announcement that Apple will have a new CEO, John Ternus, this September has become the most talked about news in the world’s media. With more or less reverence for Tim Cook, commentators make it clear that the qualities that allowed him to build one of the world’s greatest companies are now harming it.

Apple’s new CEO: a hardware expert will lead the company in the era of AI

Ternus will lead the company, which was led by two legendary figures before him. Steve Jobs developed the most profitable product in history – the iPhone. Cook has made trillions of dollars from the smartphone thanks to the supply chain he created and other products and services he introduced… Ternus takes the reins of Apple at a critical time in its history. The company is at the peak of iPhone sales… Yet it is struggling to find its next hit… It also needs to reinvent itself for the age of AI. Apple has shaped the way people interact with computing for decades, first with desktop computers and then with mobile devices. But Apple has fallen behind competitors who have already mastered the next computing platform: chatbots that communicate like humans. Apple’s Siri voice assistant looks like a Neanderthal in comparison.

Thank you, Tim Cook. Hello John Ternus

The changes at the top of the company mean that Apple can continue to benefit from Cook’s knowledge and the fruits of his labor, while Ternus can implement his own vision… So the era of John Ternus begins. But what exactly does this mean? First of all, Apple customers don’t have to worry that everything that works well now will be thrown out the window. Ternus has been with Apple since 2001, and Cook has gradually taught him the fine art of corporate governance in recent years. So it won’t be that some person who doesn’t know the company will come and break it. At the same time, over the years, Ternus achieved his own success and, as vice president of hardware development, largely defined the essence of Apple. Ternus’s influence is visible in the iPhone, Mac mini, and iPad. The only difference is that by becoming CEO, he will have the opportunity to have even greater influence…

This decision could be a game changer in making Apple more innovative. There is a chance that it will also speed up production processes. Let’s hope that Ternus will act more decisively. If all goes well, he could prove to be the perfect combination of a longtime Apple insider and a fresh perspective. Cook has thought this through very wisely.

“Defender of the status quo” Tim Cook resigns as CEO: he has nothing more to offer Apple other than his resignation

In some ways, Cook turned Apple into an unprecedentedly large business empire with excellent supply chain management, a clear marketing rhythm and stable profitability. But at the same time, Cook “locked” Apple… The most reasonable explanation for his departure is that when a company is optimized to the limit, it needs other variables and they can only appear with a new leader. If Steve Jobs’s keyword was “disruption” and Tim Cook’s was “order,” then the company’s next phase may be a return to a more challenging phase: finding direction in the face of uncertainty and betting on the future despite all the risks. Perhaps this is the real reason for the transfer of power.

Tim Cook steps down as Apple CEO

Mr. Cook’s resignation will end one of the most successful periods of management in American business history. During his tenure, Apple’s annual profits quadrupled to over $110 billion and its value more than tenfold to $4 trillion… Mr. Ternus will take over a company that hasn’t released a new mainstream product in years and is facing questions about its business… The company has stayed away while the rest of the tech industry has poured hundreds of billions of dollars into developing artificial intelligence.
