KUWAIT: The Civil Service Commission issued an external circular on Thursday regarding the suspension of work at all ministries, government bodies, and public authorities and institutions on the occasion of the Hijri New Year 1448, which will fall on either next Tuesday or Wednesday.
In a press statement exclusively released to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the Commission said that if the month of Thulhijja 1448 AH has 29 days, the holiday will be next Tuesday, June 16, as an official holiday marking the Hijri New Year, with official work resuming on Wednesday, June 17.
The statement clarified that if Thulhijja 1448 AH has 30 days, the holiday will be Wednesday, June 17, as an official holiday for the Hijri New Year, along with Thursday, June 18, as a rest day since it falls between two holidays, with official work resuming on Sunday, June 21.
