The activity of police linked to narcotics dropped during the past year. The police intervened a total of 4,248 grams of drugs in Andorra, 30.7% less than the previous year, when 6,126.4 grams were confiscated. Arrests on charges related to illegal toxic substances also decreased, to 189, 37% less than in 2024according to the balance sheet it publishes Statistics.
The report indicates that the amount of drug involved is below the average for the period 2016-2025, which is 11,589.4 grams, and also below the average for the last five years, located at 6,875.6 grams. Regarding the 2016, when 32,309.5 grams were intervenedthe reduction is 86.9%.
thehashish was the most seized drug, with 41.2% of the total, with 1,749.2 gramsfollowed by marijuana, with 1,637.4 grams, 38.5%. 697.7 grams of cocaine and 163.7 grams of other narcotics were also seized.
The most common place of the interventions was the Spanish-Andorran border where 40.2% of the narcotics were confiscated. 39.2% were seized inside the Principality and 20.5% on the Franco-Andorran border.
Statistics detail that of the 189 arrests, 123 corresponded to non-residents, 47 to non-Andorran residents and 19 to people of Andorran nationality. Police activity also included last year 711 controls with intervention of cannabis and derivatives1.4% more than in 2024, mostly to non-residents.
