Protests started in front of Skënderbej square, to then continue the march towards Dëshmorët e Kombit boulevard, and then to be stationed in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
This is the 10th consecutive day of the citizen protest, which started by opposing the investment and the project that is expected to be built in Zvrnec.
The opening speech today was given by activist Alben Kola.
“It is important to have patience, even though this battle will last several days. Charters are being organized in our diaspora. We have many who have come from Germany, etc… The organizers are the 100,000 Albanians here and 6 million in the diaspora. Don’t say Rama is gone because it belongs to the sold-out opposition, say Rama is in jail, Berisha is in jail. Who will lead the new Albania? Don’t be afraid, we have 1,000 pedagogues abroad who are ready to return,” he said.
“Tomorrow will be a national protest, I call you all to come to Tirana”, said one of the protesters who spoke on the podium in front of the Prime Minister’s Office.
Citizens have submitted five requests:
Resignation of the government;
Repeal of the status and legal framework for strategic investors;
Repeal of the Mountains Package;
Cancellation of changes in the Law on Protected Areas;
Cancellation of changes in the Law on Cultural Heritage.
