Investigation in Cluj after a student was allegedly drugged and sexually assaulted at the graduation ball. On Monday he had to take the first test of the Baccalaureate

An 18-year-old woman arrived at the hospital after her prom, and the family alleges that she was drugged and later sexually assaulted. The Cluj County Police Inspectorate (IPJ) announces that it has started investigations in the case of a 12th grade student from the “Virgil Madgearu” High School in Cluj-Napoca.

A serious case, which happened in Cluj Napoca, is under the attention of the police and prosecutors, after the parents of a high school student reported that after the graduation banquet their daughter was drugged and raped. The girl was supposed to take her first Baccalaureate exam on Monday.

The police announce that they have started investigations in this case, writes Agerpres.

“On June 6, at around 05:25, the Police of Cluj-Napoca was notified, by calling 112, by the medical staff of the Cluj-Napoca Emergency Reception Unit, regarding the fact that an 18-year-old young woman was transported to the medical unit, claiming that she had been the victim of a sexual assault. From the preliminary checks carried out by the police, it emerged that the young woman had participated, the previous evening, in an event organized in a restaurant in Cluj-Napoca, together with several people, during which alcoholic beverages were consumed. During the event, one of the people present at the scene allegedly informed the young woman’s mother about the fact that she was ill, and later the support of a medical team was requested, which took the person and transported her to a medical unit for the provision of specialized care and evaluations“, announced IPJ Cluj.

According to the cited source, investigations were started in the case to establish the entire factual situation, identify all the persons involved and arrange the necessary legal measures, the investigations being carried out under smanagement of the competent parquet unit.

What does the high school management support?

The management of the “Virgil Madgearu” High School claims that it was not involved in the organization of that event.

“In relation to the information that appeared in the public space regarding an incident that took place during a private event in which the name of the institution was mentioned, we make the following clarifications: the event referred to was not organized by the high school and was not part of the official activities of the institution. This was a private event, organized by parents, held outside the premises of the high school, after the end of classes and school activities. We strongly condemn any act that affects the safety, integrity or dignity of a person and we deeply regret the reported situation. At this moment, we do not have additional information compared to those circulated in the public space. Given that the aspects presented are the subject of checks by the competent authorities, we believe that they are the only ones able to establish the exact circumstances of what happened.”the high school management sent.

The parents made the case public

According to the parents, it all started around 00:55, when they were contacted by the class teachers, who allegedly told them that their daughter was in an unusual state and could no longer communicate normally.

“For me, the nightmare began at 00:55, when the manager called me and told me that my daughter was no longer speaking coherently and that something was wrong with her. I immediately left the house and went to the restaurant. While I was going down the stairs, I called 112, because no one had done it before.” the girl’s mother told the local publication News from Cluj.

The woman says she was surprised that, despite the presence of several adults at the event, including teachers and security personnel, no one would have requested the intervention of a medical crew before the family arrived.

“I don’t understand how, out of so many adults present, no one thought to call an ambulance. My daughter was in an obviously serious condition, she could no longer speak coherently and was completely disoriented.” he stated this.

The parents say that when they arrived at the restaurant, they found their daughter in a state that immediately alarmed them. According to the father, the teenager could not hold a normal conversation and did not understand what was happening around her.

“In the ambulance she didn’t even recognize her mother and was asking to be called ‘her mother’. It was a shock to us. Our child has never behaved like this before.” he declared.

The family claims that the situation became even more worrying after the medico-legal examination was carried out. According to the parents, the medical documents submitted to the investigators would indicate the existence of vaginal cracks, traces of bleeding, bruises and scratches in several areas of the body.

“We were told that the examination revealed vaginal cracks, possible traces of blood, bruises on her body, legs and hands, as well as scratches. My daughter was uncooperative and did not remember what happened“, said the young woman’s father.

The family says the teenager remembers very little of the time between when she attended the banquet and when she arrived at the hospital. The only clear memory would be related to a park near the venue where the event took place.

The parents say there are suspicions about the administration of a substance that may have affected his memory and reaction capacity, but the results of toxicology tests are not available at this time.

At the same time, the family indicated to the investigators several people who would have been in the girl’s company during the period when she no longer remembers what happened. According to the parents, among them is also a classmate of the young woman.
