Why did we decide to write in Portuguese in the variant used in Brazil?
Because this news is aimed at those who write and read in this variant. This topic motivated an internal debate and we considered that the best way to reach this community was to offer a product that was immediately assimilable. For this reason, we created a symbol (a br in blue) that identifies the news written by PÚBLICO Brazil team when these are published and appear in the website of the PUBLIC. Furthermore, all news produced by the PÚBLICO Brasil team has a note at the beginning of the text stating that it is written in the variant of Portuguese used in Brazil.
