Regarding publications that harm the national interest and symbols of the Republic… the prosecution seeks:

The Public Prosecutor at the Sidi M’hamed Misdemeanor Court requested, on Monday, the imposition of a 5-year prison sentence and a 500,000 DZD fine for the arrested lawyer, Latifa Dib, on charges of displaying publications to the public that would harm the national interest and the symbols of the Republic, while the judge set June 15 as the date for pronouncing the initial ruling.
During the appearance of the arrested lawyer, on Monday evening, June 8, before the sentencing judge at the misdemeanor court in Sidi M’hamed, where she was confronted with the facts attributed to her, which would harm the national interest and the symbols of the Algerian Republic, the accused denied all the charges directed against her in full and in detail, and said that her intention in the publication was not to harm the national interest or to harm any symbol of the state, and she is known for her endless love for Algeria.
The accused: I am the daughter of a mujahid and the granddaughter of a martyr, and the interests of the nation are a red line for me
Deeb explained that the post she posted on her page on the social networking site “Facebook” was an implicit message to parties she described as “enemies” who tried to distort her reputation and threaten to throw her in prison and then liquidate her by killing her. She stressed that she was not against any specific person or party.
In her response to the judge’s question regarding publishing pictures of the President of the Republic and the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, the arrested lawyer confirmed that they are public figures, and she is accustomed in all her publications on social media to “publishing their pictures in order to raise their value and seek help and protection from them, as she is the daughter of a mujahid first and then the granddaughter of the nation’s martyr second, and in addition to that, she has been a fighter for 7 years.”
With a pale face and burning tears, as if she could not believe that she was being thrown into prison and spending an entire week in his cell, Latifa Deeb asked the court to acquit her of all the charges against her, stressing that she had and will always support President Tebboune and Chief of Staff Saeed Chengriha, and that the national interest is a red line for her.
