Dr. Mahmoud Hamed, President, said Fine arts sectorThe sector continues its preparations for the launch of the new session of… Youth salon During the month of next September, as part of a plan Ministry of Culture To support young artists and provide the opportunity for new generations to showcase their creative experiences, as the sector decided to raise the age of participation to 36 years in the next session, as compensation for a previous session that was not held on time, thus giving a larger number of artists the opportunity to participate.
The head of the Fine Arts Sector explained, in exclusive statements to Youm7, that the sector intends, following the Youth Salon, to organize the Cairo Sculpture Salon, in continuation of its efforts to support various fields of visual arts and highlight the experiences of Egyptian sculptors.
The exhibition launches in mid-November
Mahmoud Hamed added that the General Fine Arts Exhibition in its next session will be held during the period from mid-November until December 2026, indicating that preparations for the new session have already begun through intensive meetings to make the final arrangements and executive steps for the exhibition, which is one of the most important and oldest fine arts events in Egypt.
The public exhibition is considered one of the most important annual artistic events since its launch in 1969, as it represents a forum that brings together leading artists and younger generations in one creative space that reflects the development of the Egyptian plastic movement and the diversity of its visions and methods.
The artist Islam Obada Qummis was also chosen as curator of the thirty-sixth session of the Youth Salon, as part of an effort to present an organizational and artistic vision that keeps pace with developments in the contemporary fine arts scene, and opens the way for various youth experiences, especially with his artistic orientation towards geometric abstraction and visual relations between mass and space. The sector’s management confirms that the current preparations include working to overcome obstacles facing artists and participants, to ensure that the events come out in the best possible way, in a way that reflects Egypt’s artistic status and enhances its cultural role in supporting the visual arts and consolidating the creative identity.
