In August must Nukissiorfiit carry out extensive repair work on the fjord span that supplies Nuuk with power from the hydroelectric plant in Buksefjorden.
Therefore, the Ameralik Fjord south of Nuuk will be restricted for sailing in the period from 3 August to 17 August.

The repair is due to one of the four lines on the fjord span being damaged in December 2024, which led to a longer power outage.
This means that if there is damage to one of the other three lines, Nukissiorfiit will not be able to supply Nuuk with hydropower. If that were to happen, they would have to use the diesel generators at the emergency power station.
Therefore, it is necessary to re-establish a new reserve line to ensure the future energy supply to Nuuk, writes Nukissiorfiit.
