The extravagant businessman decided to enter the pitch during one of the one-minute breaks and yell at the match referees. The 52-year-old D. Giannakopoulos started gesticulating violently demanding that the referees give a technical foul to the Piraeus Olympiakos team.
Soon, at the request of the referees, it was announced in the arena that the match will be stopped if any person in the parquet places enters the field.
At the end of the first half of the match, D. Giannakopoulos had a short chat with PAO coach Ergin Ataman, who was leaving the field.
D. Giannakopoulos himself did not watch the third and fourth quarters from the parquet seats. Soon he spread the message as well.
“E. Ataman is kicked out of the game every two weeks, and he doesn’t do anywhere near as much as G. Bartzok does, who is granted incomprehensible immunity,” said D. Giannakopoulos, who received numerous fines for his behavior from the Euroleague.
The second match of the series 68:58 (9:15, 15:20, 19:8, 20:20) “Panathinaikos” won in front of their fans and tied the result of the final series (1:1).
