Tazabek – The Kyrgyz Republic has been excluded from the list of air carriers subject to a ban on flights to the European Union, the press service of the Administration of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
“In a notification from the Directorate General for Mobility and Transport of the European Commission, it is reported that all air carriers certified in Kyrgyzstan are excluded from the List of air carriers subject to the EU flight ban.
The decision was made following a meeting of the EU Aviation Safety Committee (ASC) on May 19–21, 2026 and will be formalized in the relevant Regulations of the European Commission.
Kyrgyzstan has been on this list since 2006.
In recent years, on behalf of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarova systematic work has been carried out to reform civil aviation, strengthen government oversight of flight safety and bring the national system into compliance with international ICAO standards.
The European Commission commended the progress made, including the results of the technical consultations, the assessment visit in March 2026 and the successful hearings in Brussels.
The European Commission will continue technical cooperation with the Kyrgyz side to maintain the achieved results,” the AP reported.
