The signing by the European Commission of the Loan Agreement of the Program SAFE amounting to €1.18 billion with Cyprus, announced the Defense Commissioner, Andrius Koumbilius, at noon on Monday.
In his post, Commissioner Koubilius signs the loan agreement on behalf of the Commission, together with the Budget Commissioner, Piotr Serafin. For Cyprus, the Agreement was signed by the Minister of Finance Makis Keravnosas well as the Head of the Public Debt Management Office, Chrysavgi Chrysostomou-Lapathiotis.
“Another member state on a steady course towards strengthening European defense preparedness” said the Defense Commissioner in his post. “Cyprus is already the 6th country to sign the SAFE agreement. Very soon, EU support will begin to reach the armed forces and industry of Cyprus,” he concluded in his post.
